Job summary

The Parkgate Hotel, Cardiff, part of The Celtic Collection, seeks an experienced Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to support leadership of our Food & Beverage operation and deliver exceptional service at every guest touchpoint.

Working alongside the Outlet Manager, you will lead a hospitality team, ensure standards exceed expectations, manage staffing and scheduling, and collaborate with chefs to deliver seamless service while upholding food safety and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory or management experience within a hotel, restaurant, bar or hospitality venue
• A genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences
• Experience leading, motivating and developing teams
• Strong operational knowledge of Food & Beverage service
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Experience working within a busy, guest-focused environment
• The confidence to make decisions and lead from the front
• A hands-on approach with the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Good understanding of food safety, health & safety and licensing requirements
• Experience managing rotas, stock control and service delivery would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day management and operation of the Food & Beverage outlet
• Lead, coach and inspire a team to deliver outstanding guest experiences
• Ensure service standards consistently exceed guest expectations
• Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements where required
• Support recruitment, onboarding and team development initiatives
• Manage staffing levels and assist with departmental scheduling
• Work closely with chefs and other departments to ensure seamless service
• Ensure compliance with licensing, food safety, health & safety and company standards
• Monitor stock levels and contribute to effective cost control
• Lead by example, creating a positive and engaging working environment
• Support the achievement of departmental targets and business objectives
