  • Ensure food safety and health & safety standards are adhered to.
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, and kitchen administration.
  • Lead the kitchen in the Chef Manager’s absence.

Salary: £33,000 per annum

Hours: Monday Friday, Term Time Only

We are seeking a passionate and hands-on Assistant Chef Manager to join our vibrant school catering team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced chef who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking for a great work‑life balance with no evenings, weekends or school holidays.

The Role

As Assistant Chef Manager, you will support the Chef Manager in delivering a high‑quality, nutritious and engaging food offer to students and staff. You will play a key role in menu planning, food preparation, staff supervision and ensuring all meals meet both school and dietary standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the daily preparation, cooking and service of fresh meals
  • Support menu development in line with school nutrition guidelines
  • Supervise and motivate the catering team
  • Ensure food safety and health & safety standards are adhered to
  • Assist with stock control, ordering and kitchen administration
  • Step up to lead the kitchen in the Chef Manager’s absence
