Job summary

Norewood Lodge Care Home, Portishead—part of Bupa—is seeking an Assistant Chef to support our residential dining and fresh food kitchen team. This bank contract role focuses on creating nutritious menus, using fresh ingredients, and meeting residents’ dietary needs while delivering a warm, home-from-home dining experience.

You will train and guide the kitchen team, adhere to COSHH and HACCP, manage orders and deliveries, and contribute to special events across the year.

Qualifications

• Passion for cooking with fresh ingredients and a desire to deliver quality dining.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Using passion for cooking and fresh ingredients to create varied and nutritional menus.
• Deliver an excellent dining experience, helping residents feel at home.
• Training and managing the kitchen team in prepping, cooking and serving of food.
• Adhering to COSHH and HACCP guidelines, budgets, orders and deliveries.
• Catering for special events or seasonal activities as required.
