Job summary

Bupa Arkley Care Home is seeking an Assistant Chef to join the kitchen team. You will prepare tasty, nutritious meals for residents, ensure dietary needs are met, and help create a welcoming dining experience.

The role is permanent, part-time (20 hours/week), with a £13.89–£15.40 per hour rate and a £1,000 welcome bonus. You’ll work on a friendly team, maintaining high hygiene standards and contributing to resident wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Passion for cooking with fresh ingredients.
• Experience with hygiene certificates and food safety.
• Ability to train and manage kitchen staff.
• Ability to adhere to COSHH/HACCP guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create varied and nutritious menus aligned with residents’ dietary needs.
• Contribute ideas to deliver an excellent dining experience and make residents feel at home.
• Train and manage the kitchen team in prepping, cooking and serving.
• Adhere to budgets, orders, deliveries and company policies.
• Cater for special events or seasonal activities as required.
