Millennium Hotel and Conference Centre Gloucester London is seeking an Assistant Banqueting Manager to assist in managing the day-to-day operation of the food and beverage team, and liaise with other departments to ensure service excellence as directed by the Food and Beverage Manager. You will be conversant with Emergency and Security Procedures and take charge during incidents.

The role includes ensuring function rooms are prepared ahead of events, coordinating with Operations Manager and Chef

To be fully conversant with all Emergency and Security Procedures in the Hotel, and take charge of any situation that may arise.

The Millennium Gloucester Hotel London Kensington is an impressive 4-star deluxe hotel in the heart of charming Kensington and a minutes' walk to Gloucester Road Underground station, allowing convenient access around London.

Requirements

Assistant Banqueting Manager Key Responsibilities will include:

• To assist in ensuring that function rooms are set up at least one hour before each event and according to the banquet order.
• To be present on the client’s arrival welcome and to help check what their needs are.
• To oversee, help and observe waiting staff to ensure standards are maintained at all times.
• To ensure that menu briefings and relevant function details are given to all casual staff before food service.
• Close liaison with the Operations Manager and Chef regarding all food related issues particularly changes in numbers and times.
• To ensure attention to detail relating to the functions and any changes to be reported to the relevant Event Planner.
• To remain in continuous contact with the organiser during an event and react quickly to any changes which may occur.

The Experience & Qualifications for Assistant Banqueting Manager:

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written/verbal communication and the ability to communicate across all levels of an organization.
• Confident individual who is adept in prioritising and managing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to take the initiative and deal with unexpected situations and last minute changes.
• Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential data.
