Confidential in Banbury is hiring an Assistant Accountant to join a permanent, office-based team. Salary £33,000 to £38,000 with up to 5% discretionary bonus and an early finish every Friday at 12:45.

The role offers 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and exposure to group and international reporting within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Around 5 years' experience in an accounting or finance role.
• Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping.
• Experience with multi-currency transactions (desirable).
• Experience with intercompany reconciliations and VAT returns.
• Confident Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
• AAT Level 3 or 4, or qualified by experience.
• A self-starter who's happy to get stuck into every part of the finance function.

Responsabilités

• Supporting month end close to tight group reporting deadlines, including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and balance sheet reconciliations
• Processing multi-currency transactions, journals and revaluations
• Managing intercompany transactions and reconciliations
• Preparing the monthly VAT return
• Supporting forecasting, budgeting and performance reporting
• Assisting with internal and external audits
• Reviewing employee expenses against company policy
• Providing cover for purchase and sales ledger when needed

The Asiistant Accountant role

What you'll need as an Assistant Accountant

US GAAP, SOX or manufacturing experience would be a bonus, but full training is available. Candidates moving from practice into industry are also encouraged to apply.

Please note this role requires flexibility around month end close and some UK bank holidays.
