Brellis Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for an Assistant Accountant in Banbury. The role supports the Finance Manager in a growing, global engineering manufacturing environment and offers a varied all-round finance function with exposure to group and international reporting.

Expect a salary of £33,000 to £38,000 depending on experience, plus a discretionary bonus up to 5% and an early finish every Friday. The role is permanent and office based.

Qualifikationen

• Around 5 years' experience in an accounting or finance role.
• Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping.
• Experience with multi-currency transactions (desirable).
• Experience with intercompany reconciliations and VAT returns.
• Excel skills with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
• AAT Level 3 or 4, or qualified by experience.
• Self-starter willing to get involved across the finance function.

Aufgaben

• Support month end close to tight group reporting deadlines, including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Process multi-currency transactions, journals and revaluations.
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Prepare the monthly VAT return.
• Support forecasting, budgeting and performance reporting.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Review employee expenses against company policy.
• Provide cover for purchase and sales ledger when needed.

Looking for a hands-on accounting role where no two days are the same? Our client, a well-established global engineering manufacturer based in Banbury, is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join finance team. This is a newly created role, brought in to support the Finance Manager as the business continues to grow.

The Asiistant Accountant role

• Supporting month end close to tight group reporting deadlines, including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and balance sheet reconciliations
• Processing multi-currency transactions, journals and revaluations
• Managing intercompany transactions and reconciliations
• Preparing the monthly VAT return
• Supporting forecasting, budgeting and performance reporting
• Assisting with internal and external audits
• Reviewing employee expenses against company policy
• Providing cover for purchase and sales ledger when needed

What you'll need as an Assistant Accountant

• Around 5 years' experience in an accounting or finance role
• Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
• Experience with multi-currency transactions (highly desirable)
• Experience with intercompany reconciliations and VAT returns
• Confident Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
• AAT Level 3 or 4, or qualified by experience
• A self-starter who's happy to get stuck into every part of the finance function

US GAAP, SOX or manufacturing experience would be a bonus, but full training is available.

Please note this role requires flexibility around month end close and some UK bank holidays.
