Job summary

BRELLIS RECRUITMENT LIMITED is seeking an Assistant Accountant in Banbury to support the Finance Manager. This hands-on, permanent role offers a salary of £33,000 to £38,000 plus a discretionary bonus of up to 5% and an early finish every Friday.

You will assist with month-end, multi-currency transactions, intercompany reconciliations and VAT returns, while gaining exposure to group and international reporting within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Around 5 years' experience in an accounting or finance role.
• Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping.
• Experience with multi-currency transactions (highly desirable).
• Experience with intercompany reconciliations and VAT returns.
• Confident Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
• AAT Level 3 or 4, or qualified by experience.
• A self-starter who's happy to get stuck into every part of the finance function.

Responsibilities

• Supporting month end close to tight group reporting deadlines, including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Processing multi-currency transactions, journals and revaluations.
• Managing intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Preparing the monthly VAT return.
• Supporting forecasting, budgeting and performance reporting.
• Assisting with internal and external audits.
• Reviewing employee expenses against company policy.
• Providing cover for purchase and sales ledger when needed.

Assistant Accountant
Banbury £33,000 to £38,000 + up to 5% bonus Office based Permanent

Looking for a hands-on accounting role where no two days are the same? Our client, a well-established global engineering manufacturer based in Banbury, is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join finance team. This is a newly created role, brought in to support the Finance Manager as the business continues to grow.

The Asiistant Accountant role
