Job summary

Back TO Work is seeking a motivated individual for their IT Support role at a mixed comprehensive school. This is an entry point into the IT industry, focusing on providing technical support for all IT equipment, software, and peripherals, and assisting with the school’s digital infrastructure and events.

You will monitor networks, deploy hardware/software with providers, and maintain logs, while training teachers and staff in using technology effectively and safely.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for all the school’s IT equipment including computers, software and peripherals
• Work with service providers in the deployment of hardware and software required by the school
• Daily monitoring of the network and servers, backup processes and anti-virus protection and firewalls to ensure network availability
• Monitor the IT helpdesk and prioritise and respond accordingly
• Update and maintain documentation such as logs and audits as part of administrative procedures
• Prepare and install resources and be available to provide support for teaching and learning and school events
• Maintain and update the school website, intranet and managed learning environment and intranet
• Provide general maintenance or repairs and updates of computer equipment and arrange repairs
• Train where appropriate, teachers and support staff in the use of hardware or relevant software
• Undertake such other duties as required by the Head teacher commensurate with the grading of the post
• Uphold the school’s policies and procedures regarding safeguarding, equal opportunities and health and safety
