Academics is seeking an Aspiring Child Counsellor/SEN TA to support pupils with SEMH/MLD in Esher, Surrey. The role involves 1:1 and small group work, building trusted relationships, and following safeguarding guidelines. Training and CPD are provided; school hours are 08:30–15:30, term time only.

Salary is paid per day (93–105). Right to work in the UK is required; visa sponsorship is not available. DBS/enhanced checks may be required depending on candidate background.

This specialist primary and secondary school in Esher is looking for compassionate and dedicated Aspiring Child COunsellor/Special Needs Teaching Assistant's (SEN TA) to join the team. The school supports children and young people aged 7-17 (Years 3-12) who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and/or Autism Spectrum conditions. These pupils may have experienced disrupted education, school refusal, anxiety or exclusion, find mainstream setting overwhelming, need small groups, high adult consistency and trusted relationships to succeed.

A SEN TA is a great way to kick start your career within the SEN sector. With this role in Esher, you will have the chance to work closely aside and network with a range of professionals, such as, Therapists and Counsellors. Job role and responsibilities for a Aspiring Child Counsellor/SEN TA:

Fantastic on-site training, support and CPD is provided to ensure safeguarding of all pupils
Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 15:30, PAYE, term time only
93- 105 per day
You MUST have right to work in the UK in order to apply - no Visa sponsorship
