Job summary

Academics in Esher is seeking an Aspiring Educational Psychologist/SEN TA to support pupils aged 7–17 with SEMH, MLD and autism in a specialist school setting.

You will assist class teachers, provide 1:1 and small group support, build trusting relationships, follow safeguarding guidelines, attend CPD and staff meetings, and be available for on-site work in Esher during term time. Pay is 93–105 per day.

Qualifications

This specialist primary and secondary school in Esher is looking for compassionate and dedicated Aspiring Educational Psychologist/Special Needs Teaching Assistant's (SEN TA) to join the team. The school supports children and young people aged 7-17 (Years 3-12) who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and/or Autism Spectrum conditions. These pupils may have experienced disrupted education, school refusal, anxiety or exclusion, find mainstream setting overwhelming, need small groups, high adult consistency and trusted relationships to succeed.

Job role and responsibilities for a Aspiring Educational Psychologist/SEN TA:

• Assist the class teacher with the learning experience

• Ability to build trusted and effective relationships with the pupils
• Willing to do 1:1 and small group support and work with pupils
• Follow the safeguarding guidelines and implement them in the classroom
• Have good communication and interpersonal skills

• Needs to attend staff meetings and complete relevant CPD
• Able to commute to Esher

Fantastic on-site training, support and CPD is provided to ensure safeguarding of all pupils
Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 15:30, PAYE, term time only
93- 105 per day
