Remedy Education is working with a specialist SEN school in Newham, seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to join from September. This is a full-time role supporting pupils with ASD and complex needs on a 1:1 and small group basis, with a focus on developing life skills and independence.

The right candidate will be calm under pressure, reliable and genuinely passionate about helping young people. The role offers a temp-to-perm path with a September start in a busy Newham school setting.

Qualifications

• This is not a basic classroom support role.
• You will be helping children and young people with ASD, complex needs, communication difficulties and challenging behaviour develop the skills they need for everyday life.
• The right person will be calm under pressure, emotionally resilient and genuinely passionate about making a difference.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with Autism and complex SEN needs on a 1:1 and small group basis.
• Helping pupils build confidence, independence and life skills
• Supporting behaviour management in a calm and consistent way
• Assisting with personal care where required
• Helping pupils regulate emotions and engage with learning
• Working closely with teachers, therapists and support staff
• Supporting pupils who may display physical or challenging behaviour
• Creating a safe, structured and positive environment
