Job summary

Remedy Education is partnering with a primary school in Newham to recruit a strong SEN Teaching Assistant. You will provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN, including behavioural needs, helping them stay engaged and progress.

The role involves supporting the class teacher with lessons, managing behaviour and emotional regulation, and fostering independence and confidence in learners. This is a long-term, full-time position with a supportive school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN and challenging behaviour in a school setting.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach to pupil support.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; good level of spoken and written English.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN.
• Support the class teacher with lesson delivery and planning.
• Manage behaviour and support emotional regulation of pupils.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
• Help maintain a safe, structured and inclusive classroom environment.
