Job summary

Prospero Teaching seek a caring ASD Specialist to join a Dudley school, supporting pupils across primary and secondary phases. You will work with teachers, SENCOs and families to develop personalised strategies, promoting wellbeing and inclusive learning.

The ideal candidate has experience with autism, SEND knowledge, strong communication and teamwork, and a patient, adaptable approach to help every pupil reach their potential.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with ASD.
• Understanding of SEND and autism-specific strategies.
• Relevant qualifications in autism, SEND, education or specialist support desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist support to pupils with ASD across primary and secondary settings.
• Develop and implement individualised strategies to support learning, communication and independence.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, support staff, parents/carers and external professionals.
• Support pupils with sensory, emotional and behavioural regulation.
• Adapt learning activities and classroom environments to meet individual needs.
• Promote positive relationships, confidence and independence.
• Monitor pupil progress and contribute to appropriate support plans.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
