Job summary

Academics in Camberley is seeking an ASD Support Worker to assist pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a busy primary school. The role focuses on 1:1 and small-group support to help children access learning, develop social skills, and feel secure in class.

You will work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and parents to implement personalised strategies, promote positive outcomes, and maintain a calm, structured learning environment.

Qualifications

• Patient, caring, and empathetic approach.
• Passionate about supporting children with Autism and additional needs.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Calm, resilient, and adaptable in a school environment.
• Experience in SEN, education, care, or youth work (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with ASD.
• Help pupils access learning activities and participate fully in school life.
• Support the development of communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation skills.
• Implement personalised support strategies in line with pupils' individual needs.
• Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and parents to promote positive outcomes.
