Job summary

Academics in Cheltenham is seeking an ASD Support Worker to provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a primary school setting. You will help children access learning, develop social skills, and participate fully in school life.

You will collaborate with teachers, the SENCO, and parents to promote positive outcomes, creating a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment. This full-time role offers an immediate start and ongoing training and support.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Right to work in the UK
• Experience in SEN, education, care, support work, youth work, or childcare (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with ASD
• Help pupils access learning activities and participate fully in school life
• Support development of communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation skills
• Implement personalised support strategies in line with pupils' needs
• Work with teachers, the SENCO, and parents to promote positive outcomes
