Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Carmarthenshire is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work in a specialist ASC provision and broader secondary school setting. You will support pupils with ASC, ALN, and communication and sensory needs, delivering 1:1 and small-group assistance to help them access learning and participate in lessons.

The role focuses on building confidence, independence and resilience, with term-time hours and opportunities for long-term placements and CPD.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, patience and resilience.
• Experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable individuals.
• ASC, ALN, SEN or behavioural support experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Support pupils with ASC/ALN to access learning and build independence.
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
