Job summary

Citizen is seeking a Safer Neighbourhoods Team Leader in Birmingham to lead the team, guide complex ASB cases, and ensure robust case management and tenancy enforcement. You will collaborate with police, local authorities, and safeguarding partners to deliver a safe and supportive community.

The role requires strong leadership, a background in housing/community safety, and a commitment to continuous professional development. Driving licence is required; DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

• Experience leading ASB or neighbourhood casework within housing, local authority, policing, or community safety settings.
• Strong understanding of Anti-social Behaviour and related enforcement tools.
• Evidence of continuous professional development in housing, community safety, ASB, or neighbourhood management.
• Proven leadership to motivate, support and develop staff.
• Training in safeguarding, risk management, or trauma-informed practice (or willingness to undertake).
• Formal ASB, housing law, or enforcement training (desirable).
• CIH qualification or willingness to work towards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Safer Neighbourhood Officers with clear expectations and high-quality case work.
• Provide expert guidance on complex or high-risk ASB cases and lawful practice across the team.
• Ensure ASB casework is recorded, progressed on time, supported by evidence.
• Authorise and oversee ASB enforcement tools and attend court when required.
• Promote community reassurance and safety initiatives.
• Represent Citizen at multi-agency meetings with police, local authorities and safeguarding teams.
• Use performance data and resident feedback to inform decisions and service improvements.
