Job description

What will I be doing?

• Reporting to the Senior Site Manager, you will join our processing teams in Surrey, managing HWRC sites.
• You will support and supervise recycling centres within your area, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and the efficient deployment of staff and resources, including resale activities.
• Providing excellent customer service and addressing complaints related to the sites in a timely manner.
• Ensuring the sites are adequately staffed and managing working hours, with information provided to payroll for correct staff payments.
• Maintaining budget control over operations and ordering equipment and resources as needed.
• You will be the main COTC holder for your sites, responsible for ensuring operations comply with permits or licences.
• Ensuring all site records are up-to-date and maintained according to policies, procedures, and legislation, including training records, safe working procedures, and risk assessments.

What are the requirements?

• Experience in a supervisory role is essential. Candidates should demonstrate a passion for recycling, along with strong communication and computer skills.
• Must have, be working towards, or be committed to achieving a COTC (WAMITAB) Level 4 Hazardous Waste (Transfer) qualification within 12 months; Suez offers support and sponsorship for training.
• A good understanding of H&S and environmental requirements, with the ability to produce risk assessments and standard operating procedures.
• Ability to work to deadlines and be proactive in managing daily responsibilities.
• Experience in the waste industry is desirable but not essential.
