Job summary

Mitchell Maguire Limited is seeking an Area Sales Manager for Civil Building Products covering the North region in the United Kingdom. You will lead field sales for access drainage and building drainage solutions, engaging with builders merchants and contractors to drive growth.

The role targets approximately £1m turnover, with about half your time focused on national and independent civil merchants and the other half on contractors and utilities, reporting to SD & MD.

Qualifications

• Must have worked for or sold to builders merchants or contractors.
• Open to variety of products previously sold.
• Experience with civils or heavyside building products is advantageous.
• Able to manage territory with an autonomous, structured approach.

Responsibilities

• Field sales promoting access & drainage solutions such as covers, gratings and drainage products.
• 50% of time selling to national & independent civil merchants (e.g., Burdens, Keyline, Civils & Lintell, JDP).
• Remaining 50% selling to contractors & utilities.
• Target turnover of around £1m once established.
• Work closely with and report to SD & MD.

Area to be covered: North

Remuneration: £40,000 – £60,000 DOE + 20% bonus

Benefits: £500 – £600 car allowance and full benefits package

The role of the Area Sales Manager –Civil Building Products will involve:

• Field sales role promoting predominantly a manufactured range of access & drainage solutions such as: access cover, gully gratings, steel covers, drainage


• 50% of your time will be spent selling to national & independent civil’s merchants such as: Burdens, Keyline, Civils & Lintel and JDP


• The remaining 50% will be spilt evenly selling to contractors & utilities


• Once up and running will be expected to turnover £1m


• Working closely with and reporting to SD & MD

The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager – Civil Building Products with:

• Must have worked for or sold to builders merchants or contractors


• Open in terms of what products you’ve sold


• Would consider an internal sales / branch professional working for merchant such as Jewson Civils, JDP, Keylite and Burdens


• Would consider someone from a tier 1 contractor focusing on infrastructure projects


• Ideally sold some civils or heavyside building products such as; building drainage, manhole covers, access covers, gratings, linear drainage channel, underground pipes and fittings, security chambers/ covers etc.


• Autonomous in nature


• Structured sales process/ territory management skills
