Job summary

FM Search & Select Ltd is seeking an experienced Area Cleaning Manager to oversee a mobile portfolio of cleaning contracts across Glasgow and surrounding areas.

You will manage day-to-day service delivery, conduct site audits, support supervisors and operatives, coordinate onboarding, and ensure H&S compliance while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience managing commercial cleaning contracts, multi-site or area manager experience preferred.
• Ability to conduct audits and quality inspections to identify issues.
• Experience onboarding staff and coordinating training with clients.

Responsibilities

FM Search & Select are recruiting for an experienced Area Cleaning Manager to join an established facilities management business, overseeing a portfolio of cleaning contracts across Glasgow and the surrounding areas.

This is a mobile, client-facing position requiring someone who is confident managing multiple sites, supporting cleaning teams and ensuring consistently high standards of service delivery.

The Role

• Manage the day-to-day delivery of cleaning services across a portfolio of sites.
• Carry out regular site audits and quality inspections, identifying and resolving any areas of concern.
• Manage and support cleaning supervisors and operatives across multiple locations.
• Coordinate new starter onboarding, inductions and training.
• Manage staffing levels, rotas, holidays, absence and cover requirements.
• Monitor performance and ensure cleaning specifications and service standards are consistently achieved.
• Build strong working relationships with clients and attend regular review meetings.
• Manage stock, equipment and cleaning materials across sites.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH and company procedures.
• Complete reports, audits and other documentation accurately using company IT systems.
• Support the mobilisation and onboarding of new contracts where required.
• Deal with operational issues, complaints and remedial actions quickly and professionally.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will have previous experience managing commercial cleaning contracts, ideally within an Area Manager, Contract Manager or similar multi-site position. You must be confident carrying out audits, managing and onboarding staff, dealing directly with clients and using IT systems for reporting and administration.

As this is a mobile position covering multiple locations across the Central Belt and West of Scotland, a full UK driving licence is essential.
