Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is offering an Apprenticeship for an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor (Level 6) based in Teesside, supporting the Net Zero Teesside project. You’ll be mentored by experienced QS professionals and gain hands-on experience while pursuing a degree-level qualification.

You’ll study at Northumbria University Northumbria on day release, building technical and professional skills and earning while you learn through a structured early-careers programme.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated and proactive with a drive to start a career in construction.
• Ability to learn quickly and develop practical solutions to problems.
• Strong teamwork and clear communication required to work with project teams.

Responsibilities

• Support management and control of project costs throughout the lifecycle.
• Assist with cost reporting, forecasting, valuations and financial monitoring.
• Help prepare and maintain commercial records, contract documentation and cost information.
• Support subcontract procurement activities including tendering and cost analysis.
• Assist with measuring completed works and comparing costs to budgets and targets.
