Through all these services we shape Kirklees as Place, securing positive outcomes and making sure it’s a great location to live, work and visit.

We are committed to developing the skills and employment opportunities of people who live in Kirklees and helping employers access the workforce they need to grow. By working in partnership with Kirklees Third Sector partners, we attract funding into the district and deliver services via those partners who are best placed to deliver. We also deliver employment and skills programmes ourselves and when appropriate will commission and empower partners to deliver on our behalf.

Our work is guided by and contributes to the delivery of the Kirklees Employment & Skills Plan: ‘Aspire, Achieve & Include’. This plan was developed in collaboration with key partners across the district and outlines a number of partnership-based actions and priorities with a collaborative approach to achieving these.
