Qualifications

• MS Office, Outlook, Word and Excel proficiency.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Competent in using clinical/administrative information systems.
• Experience with electronic patient administration or NHS information systems.
• Knowledge of RTT pathways and NHS access standards.
• Knowledge of Cerner, eRS and related Trust systems.

Responsibilities

• Take administrative ownership of an allocated cohort of Gastroenterology patients and coordinate their progression through referral, outpatient consultation, diagnostic investigations, treatment, follow-up and discharge.
• Proactively monitor patient pathways to identify outstanding appointments, investigations, results, clinical decisions, referrals and follow-up actions.
• Ensure administrative actions from clinical decisions, outpatient consultations and diagnostics are progressed accurately and within timescales.
• Monitor outstanding clinic outcomes, diagnostic requests and referrals, escalating items to prevent delays in patient care.
