Job summary

ALS in Coventry, West Midlands, seeks a Grade 3 Analyst to join the Inorganics department. You will analyse samples, meet timescales, and deliver high-quality results using SP2000 Skalar robots and SAN++ Skalar instruments.

The day-to-day includes ensuring customer requirements are met, maintaining accurate records, and reporting data. The role requires training colleagues, collaboration, and strict health and safety adherence.

Qualifications

• GCSEs with Science, Maths and English at grade C or higher.
• A level or equivalent in scientific subject.
• Previous laboratory experience is beneficial.
• Customer focused with excellent communication.
• Able to deliver instructional training.
• Solution oriented and methodical.
• Computer literate and collaborative.
• Meticulous with record-keeping.

Analyst - Grade 3 - Inorganics

An exciting opportunity has arisen for aGrade 3 Analystto join the Inorganics department atALS in Coventry, West Midlands.

In this role, you will be responsible for analysing a range of samples, ensuring all work is completed within the required timescales and to the highest quality standards. You will primarily be trained in pH, EC and Alkalinity analysis using SP2000 Skalar robots, as well as Cyanide analysis using SAN++ series Skalar instruments, which utilise continuous flow analysis. Hours Per Week: 37
Days Per Week: Tuesday to Saturday (08:00 - 16:00). Due to emergency cover requirements for one of our major clients, the successful candidate will be expected to be on standby for all bank holidays, including Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and Good Friday.

The Day to Day

• Understand customer requirements.

• Troubleshoot and rectify equipment issues, including daily preventative maintenance.

• Investigate and report on NCW on the QMS and assign priority.

• Assist team members to achieve work objectives, including training colleagues to the required standards.

The Essentials

• 5 GCSEs at Grade C (equivalent to new Grade 4) or above to include Science, Maths and English

• A level or equivalent in scientific subject

• Previous laboratory experience is beneficial.
