A renowned teaching hospital in Nottingham is seeking forward-thinking individuals for the Senior Anaesthetic Fellowship Programme. The role involves clinical and research interests across various specialities including thoracic anaesthesia and perioperative care. Open to post fellowship trainees, the fellowship lasts 12 months starting in August 2026, with contributions to out of hours services expected.
SENIOR ANAESTHETIC FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME
We are looking for forward thinking individuals to join our department as Senior Fellows in Anaesthesia. We have a range of posts on offer with various clinical and/or research interests. Combined clinical and research fellowships are available in thoracic and upper GI anaesthesia, major head and neck / difficult airway, in anaesthesia for major spinal and neurosurgery, obstetric anaesthesia & hepatobiliary anaesthesia, perioperative care, total intravenous anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia and Pre-Hospital emergency care. We also have primarily non clinical fellowships in research, education and patient safety.
This post is open to post fellowship trainees and post CCT applicants would be especially welcomed. The post includes a contribution to out of hours’ service. This post is for 12 months and starts in August 2026.
The Anaesthetic Department works across the two campuses at NUH. Both parts of the department are cohesive and friendly units which take pride in providing a high standard of care in an excellent major teaching hospital environment. Across the sites there are 61 operating theatres and a wide range of subspecialty areas of practice.
The Anaesthetic Department enjoys close links with the Nottingham and East Midlands School of Anaesthesia and the University Department of Anaesthesia, Nottingham University. There are active postgraduate educational programmes.
Training recognition for most of these posts may require application for prospective approval to the Royal College of Anaesthetists. There will also be opportunities to get involved in audit, clinical governance, service improvement and teaching activities.
