Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is recruiting an Assistant Site Manager to support our Birmingham Airport contract. You will lead Supervisors and operational teams to ensure safe, compliant and efficient cargo operations while fostering strong stakeholder relationships.

This is a full-time, 5-from-7 shift role with hours 02:00-10:00 or 04:00-12:00, including weekends when required. Flexibility and a proactive leadership style are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a people management or supervisory role within an airport environment (preferred).
• Proven leadership within warehousing, logistics, aviation, or fast-paced operational environments.
• Strong ability to coach, motivate and develop high-performing teams.
• Demonstrated success in driving operational performance and managing KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop Supervisors and operational teams, focusing on safety, compliance and customer service.
• Oversee daily warehouse, cargo handling and security screening operations, ensuring efficient resource allocation and service delivery.
• Monitor and drive operational performance through KPI management, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with customers, airport stakeholders and partners, ensuring exceptional service and issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with aviation security, Health & Safety and regulatory requirements.
