Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc is seeking an Assistant Site Manager for our Birmingham Airport contract. You will support day-to-day management of warehouse, cargo handling and security screening operations, leading Supervisors and teams to deliver safe, compliant and efficient cargo movement.

The role requires a 5 from 7 shift pattern with hours from 02:00-10:00 or 04:00-12:00, including weekends and public holidays as required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a people management or supervisory role within an airport environment (preferred)
• Proven leadership experience within warehousing, logistics, aviation, or other fast-paced operational environments
• Strong people management skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop Supervisors and operational teams, fostering a high-performance culture focused on safety, compliance and customer service
• Oversee daily warehouse, cargo handling and security screening operations, ensuring efficient resource allocation and service delivery
• Monitor and drive operational performance through KPI management, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
• Build strong relationships with customers, airport stakeholders and operational partners, ensuring exceptional service and issue resolution
• Ensure full compliance with aviation security, Health & Safety and regulatory requirements, maintaining the highest standards of quality and operational integrity
