Job summary

GXO Logistics is hiring an Assistant Site Manager to support Birmingham Airport contract. You will lead Supervisors and operational teams across warehouse, cargo handling and security screening, ensuring safe and efficient cargo movement and high service levels.

You will drive continuous improvement, resource planning and stakeholder relationships within a fast-paced, highly regulated airport environment, with a shift pattern across early hours and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in a people management or supervisory role within an airport environment.
• Proven leadership experience within warehousing, logistics, aviation, or other fast-paced operational environments.
• Strong people management skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
• Demonstrated success in driving operational performance, managing KPIs, and implementing continuous improvements

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop Supervisors and operational teams, fostering a high-performance culture focused on safety, compliance and customer service
• Oversee daily warehouse, cargo handling and security screening operations, ensuring efficient resource allocation and service delivery
• Monitor and drive operational performance through KPI management, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
• Build strong relationships with customers, airport stakeholders and operational partners, ensuring exceptional service and issue resolution
