Job summary

Tall Grass Recruitment is seeking an Air & Ocean Import/Export Operator in Basildon, Essex to manage end-to-end shipments. The role focuses on bookings, documentation and customs processes within a fully office-based environment.

You will handle customer communications, coordinate with airlines and freight partners, and ensure shipments are processed efficiently and accurately. Salary up to £42,000 per annum, with daytime hours.

Responsibilities

• Manage air and ocean import/export shipments.
• Coordinate bookings with airlines, shipping lines, hauliers and overseas agents.
• Prepare and check import/export documentation.
• Complete or arrange customs clearance documentation.
• Monitor shipments and provide customers with updates.
• Produce quotations and negotiate rates with suppliers.
• Resolve delays, documentation issues and queries.
• Maintain shipment records on internal systems.
• Build relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Ensure shipments are completed efficiently and compliantly.

Hours: Monday to Friday, daytime hours

Your responsibilities

• Managing air and ocean import and export shipments
• Coordinating bookings with airlines, shipping lines, hauliers and overseas agents
• Preparing and checking import and export documentation
• Completing or arranging customs clearance documentation
• Monitoring shipments and providing customers with regular updates
• Producing quotations and negotiating rates with suppliers
• Resolving delays, documentation issues and operational queries
• Maintaining accurate shipment records on internal systems
• Building strong relationships with customers and suppliers
• Ensuring shipments are completed efficiently and compliantly
