Job summary

M-KOPA is hiring a senior backend engineer to join our Asset Sales group. You will build and operate distributed C#/.NET microservices on Azure within an event-driven architecture at scale, owning features end-to-end from idea to production and iteration.

We value autonomy, curiosity, and a strong collaboration ethos as we scale fintech platforms used across Africa. This fully remote role requires comfort with distributed teams across GMT hours and multiple regions.

Qualifications

• Strong grasp of C# and .NET development.
• Experience with event-driven systems, Azure Service Bus or similar messaging tech.
• Microservices architecture experience, preferably on Azure and Kubernetes.
• Observability tooling to understand production behavior (Grafana, Application Insights).
• Comfort using AI tools in daily engineering workflow (design, code review, testing).
• DevOps culture mindset with on-call/production ownership.
• Collaborative in distributed teams across time zones.
• Continuous learning mindset and openness to feedback.
