Job summary

Janus Henderson Investors is seeking an engineering professional to embed governance into the AI platform. You will translate policy and risk requirements into concrete controls on Nexus and Accio, covering identity, permissions, and policy-as-code to support enterprise governance.

You will collaborate with Risk, Infosec, and Internal Audit to deliver auditable, production-grade controls, telemetry, and evidence across model gateways, agent orchestration, and enterprise datasets.

Qualifications

• Six+ years in software, platform, or security engineering with production experience.
• Strong Python and SQL, plus hands-on API, IaC, and CI/CD skills.
• Depth in identity and access management, RBAC, and least privilege.
• Ability to translate stakeholder needs into technical design for controls.
• Experience with a major cloud (ideally Azure) including logging and data protection.
• Practical knowledge of generative AI and agentic systems.
• Ability to distinguish control objectives from implementations and justify choices.

Responsibilities

• Build governance into the platform by turning policies and risk decisions into reusable controls, policy-as-code, deployment gates, and secure defaults.
• Design identity, access, and permission patterns for agents, models, tools, connectors, and service accounts in collaboration with IAM.
• Create an auditable framework covering ownership, permissions, data, testing, and change history across agents and end-user applications.
• Develop telemetry, evidence, and evaluation layers to reconstruct prompts, model responses, tool calls, and approvals; ensure consistency across components.
