Zego is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead one or two teams of 6-8 engineers, setting delivery standards and driving architectural decisions. You will align with Product, Data and Marketing to shape objectives and ensure end-to-end delivery.

The role emphasizes coaching, performance, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, AI-forward environment. You will be part of Zego's Hybrid model with offices in central London or Halifax, and you’ll help grow engineers into their next level while

Qualifications

• Led a team before with 5–8 engineers and coaching of engineers and tech leads.
• Technical depth in backend or frontend with distributed systems experience.
• Focus on outcomes, measurable goals and ownership of execution.
• Strong people leadership, mentoring, and constructive feedback.
• Excellent communication with non-technical stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
• Daily engagement with AI tools and rapid experimentation to drive impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead one or two teams of 6-8 engineers, establishing delivery standards.
• Raise engineering and operational excellence for performance and maintainability.
• Shape technical direction and influence architecture in partnership with senior engineers.
• Own delivery outcomes end to end with product, data and marketing alignment.
• Grow engineers and tech leads through coaching and feedback.
• Improve team processes and quarterly execution for better results.
