Job summary

Janus Henderson Investors is seeking a senior engineering leader to drive the Application Engineering Guild. You will shape the AI-enabled engineering strategy, own API platforms and lifecycle, and guide multiple teams across the enterprise, balancing innovation with live-service obligations.

Qualifications

Extensive hands-on software engineering experience with leadership across teams.
Deep API/integration architecture and cloud platforms expertise.
Experience applying AI-assisted engineering and automation.
Ability to translate ambiguous problems into validated approaches through research and prototyping.
Experience leading shared technology platforms and developer experience.

Responsibilities

Define and deliver the guild’s AI-enabled engineering roadmap.
Lead time-boxed research and prototypes addressing opportunities and barriers.
Frame ambiguous problems, test assumptions and advise direction.
Contribute to complex experiments, solving integration and security constraints.
Develop reusable patterns, reference implementations and automated controls for secure development.
Coach teams and improve shared tooling and patterns.
Own the Azure API Management and BlackRock Aladdin API platform lifecycle.
Ensure platform reliability, security, capacity, onboarding and cost transparency.
Lead specialist engineering teams and stakeholder collaboration.
Track improvements and knowledge transfer to raise delivery efficiency.
