Job summary

The Citation Group is hiring an AI Architect to own AI architecture across the AI/Data area, operating within the delivery ecosystem and reporting to the Chief AI Officer. The role emphasizes solid hands-on production AI experience and an ability to influence architecture decisions beyond a single team.

You will define standards, govern model choices, and ensure cost, security, and governance are integrated into day-to-day delivery. Nottingham-based, on-site role with broad strategic impact.

Qualifications

• Senior practitioner with 6+ years in software, data, or platform engineering/architecture.
• Hands-on production AI systems experience, not only pilots.
• Demonstrated ability to influence through judgement and conversations.

Responsibilities

• Architectural standards and patterns for AI systems across the org.
• Own AI design patterns for retrieval, grounding, and tool-calling conventions.
• Lead and govern model selection frameworks and cost/observability decisions.
• Ensure security, compliance, and production readiness from the start.
• Coordinate with Architecture Review Board for decisions with broad impact.
