Job summary

The Citation Group is building a dedicated AI Architect to lead the design and governance of AI systems across the delivery function. This role focuses on creating repeatable patterns, guiding model selection, and aligning AI initiatives with security and cost considerations.

The position sits within the AI/Data architecture area and reports to the Chief AI Officer. You will shape the architectural voice for live builds, review partner statements of work, and ensure decisions are well-documented

Qualifications

• Senior — 6+ years in software, data, or platform engineering/architecture
• Hands-on experience with production AI systems
• Ability to influence through judgment and conversation, not headcount

Responsibilities

• Define architectural standards and patterns for AI systems
• Own AI-specific model selection, data architecture, and hosting decisions
• Develop a documented decision framework for token usage, cost, and security
• Collaborate with Delivery, Product, Security, and Infrastructure to ensure alignment
• Escalate critical design decisions to Architecture Review Board
• Provide production quality, observability, and cost governance for AI initiatives
• Oversee security and compliance aspects in AI deployments
