Job summary

Keyman Personnel is seeking a Freelance Senior Engineer to lead groundworks and RC frame projects on a major site in the UK. You will set out works, oversee junior engineers, and manage the required paperwork to ensure smooth delivery on time and to budget.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, strong leadership, and a proven track record in groundworks. You will coordinate with clients, subcontractors, QS and PMs, ensuring safety and timely progress.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering is required or equivalent.
• Significant Groundworks and RC Frame construction experience.
• Proven experience in a senior engineering role.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and related software.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Solid understanding of Health and Safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Overseeing all engineering aspects of Groundworks and RC Frame construction.
• Setting out detailed works as per the contract drawings, ensuring that checks are made on a regular basis.
• Managing a team of engineers, providing guidance, and ensuring high quality of work.
• Monitoring progress, ensuring that work is on schedule and within budget.
• Completing all necessary paperwork, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with all regulations.
• Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and other professional staff, especially quantity surveyors and project managers.

Skills and Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Significant experience in Groundworks and RC Frame construction.
• Proven experience in a senior engineering role.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in using engineering software, such as AutoCAD.
• Exceptional organisational skills, with an ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Excellent understanding of Health and Safety regulations.
• CSCS Card and a valid UK driving license.
• SMSTS and First Aid certificates would be advantageous.
