Job summary

Cavendish (Recruitment) Professionals Ltd is seeking a Senior Site Engineer to join a leading UK construction company in the Luton area. The role involves leading setting out operations, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring buildability of RC frames, groundworks and civil works.

You will review drawings, manage site records, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, while liaising with clients and consultants on project requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience as a Senior Engineer in RC frames, groundworks, civil engineering, or main contracting.
• Proficient in surveying and setting-out methods (CSCS preferred).
• Strong leadership and communication skills in fast-paced projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day engineering activities across allocated project sections.
• Lead setting out operations and oversee engineering control procedures.
• Review drawings, specifications, and design information to ensure accuracy and buildability.
• Coordinate subcontractors and ensure works are delivered in accordance with project requirements.
• Produce and review technical documentation, including ITPs, RFIs, permits, and quality records.
• Monitor project progress and identify engineering solutions to technical challenges.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Support planning and sequencing of construction activities.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, utilities, and relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate site records, surveys, and as-built information

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day engineering activities across allocated project sections.
• Lead setting out operations and oversee engineering control procedures.
• Review drawings, specifications, and design information to ensure accuracy and buildability.
• Coordinate subcontractors and ensure works are delivered in accordance with project requirements.

Skills & Requirements

• Strong technical knowledge of construction methodologies and engineering principles.
• Experience managing engineering teams and subcontractors on large-scale projects.
• Proficient in the use of surveying and setting-out equipment.
• Strong understanding of quality assurance processes and technical compliance.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Valid CSCS Card essential.
