We have an exciting opportunity for a band 7 surgical prehabilitation dietitian. The post holder will provide expert dietetic advice, education and support in an outpatient and ward setting to identify adult patients requiring nutritional optimisation pre and post colorectal surgery, working alongside a St Marks multidisciplinary team (MDT).
The ideal candidate should have strong gastroenterology, in particular colorectal and parenteral nutrition experience. A proactive approach, good time management & communications skills are also key is in this busy team.
The successful applicant will be based at the Central Middlesex Hospital site where St Marks Hospital is situated, part of London North West University Healthcare Trust NHS Trust. St Mark's is a national centre for intestinal failure and gastroenterology and the dietitians are an established and valued part of the MDT. The post will also provide cover to the intestinal failure team if needed.
The St Marks dietitians sit within the wider dietetic team of acute dietitians based at Northwick Park & Ealing Hospitals. This large department offers many opportunities for learning and development due to the range of specialities. The department is committed to Continuing Professional Development, and we have an established clinical governance programme including evidence based clinical groups, audit, clinical supervision and critical appraisal.
