Job description

Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust are looking for a dedicatedPodiatrist to join on long term placement contract. To work autonomously toprovide a comprehensive advanced assessment, diagnostic, treatments, andmanagement of patients with complex needs will provide advanced experience andknowledge within the field of diabetes within podiatric medicine and must be registeredwith the Health and Care Professions Council and be qualified to administerlocal anaesthetic. To provide advancedclinical expertise across the service area, participating in the development ofprofessional competences and participation in professional appraisalsystems.

Main duties of the job

As a part of podiatry team, youmust have experience of Diabetic foot ulcers and working in a MDFT Experienceof ward rounds desirable but not essential you will be an expert resource forpatients and will promote and facilitate self-management principles inappropriate patients. You will work in collaboration with all members of themultidisciplinary healthcare team, to promote excellent standards of care topatients in line with any local or National principles/guideline, and toprovide education to professionals, patients and their carers by encouragingindependence and self-management. This role includes travelling to variousclinic sites within the Trust therefore you would be expected to be able totend of variety of sites.

Job responsibilities
  • To assess,diagnose, and implement advanced care plans for patients with complex needs,including those with diabetes and related co-morbidities.
  • To provide high-quality clinicalcare across various settings including community clinics, health centres, andacute inpatient/outpatient environments.
  • To act as a patient advocate,addressing concerns, promoting incident reporting, and ensuring properinvestigation and documentation of clinical issues.
  • To support the management ofclinical complaints and contribute to continuous service improvement in linewith HCTs policies.
  • To work with the Podiatry TeamLeader to meet key performance indicators and contribute to reports, audits,and presentations regarding service outcomes.
  • To undertake additional dutiesrelevant to the post, as agreed with the Podiatry Team Leader or ClinicalService Lead, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
