Job summary

Everpool Recruitment in Oxford is seeking Functional Assessors to conduct telephone and face-to-face assessments for DWP claimants. You will review medical evidence, explore how health conditions affect daily activities and work, and produce clear, objective reports to support decisions.

The role is hybrid, with full-time hours Monday–Friday 9am–5pm (part-time 3/4 days also available) and comprehensive training.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of recent post-registration experience in a relevant adult setting.
• Active NMC or HCPC registration.
• Strong communication and assessment skills.
• Excellent report-writing and typing skills.
• Good IT skills.
• The ability to work independently and manage your own caseload.

Responsibilities

Salary: £50,000 (+ 1k at 12 months - performance based)

WCA assessments -5/6 a day (looks at how a person's health condition/disability affects their functional ability in relation to work-related activities)

What will you be doing? As a Functional Assessor, you will:

• Conduct telephone and face-to-face assessments with claimants
• Explore how health conditions affect everyday activities and work
• Review medical evidence and health questionnaires
• Ask detailed questions about functional ability
• Use your critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills
• Produce clear, accurate and objective reports for the DWP
• Make recommendations based on your assessment findings

What you need:

• At least 1 year of recent post-registration experience in a relevant adult setting
• At least 1 year of active NMC or HCPC registration
• Strong communication and assessment skills
• Excellent report-writing and typing skills
• Good IT skills
• The ability to work independently and manage your own caseload
