Job summary

Everpool Recruitment is recruiting Functional Assessors for hybrid roles across England, leveraging clinical expertise to assess how health conditions affect daily living and work capability. Roles include nurses, OT, physiotherapists, paramedics and pharmacists.

The positions offer Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm with hybrid working, training, and progression opportunities. Sponsorship is not available for these roles.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of post-registration experience in a relevant adult setting.
• Active NMC or HCPC registration for the role.
• Strong communication and assessment skills.
• Excellent report-writing and typing skills.
• Good IT skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own caseload.

Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video and face-to-face assessments.
• Explore how health conditions affect everyday activities and work.
• Review medical evidence and health questionnaires.
• Ask detailed questions about functional ability.
• Produce clear, accurate and objective reports for the DWP.
• Make recommendations based on your assessment findings.
• Full training provided.

What we're looking for We are currently recruiting:

• Registered Adult Nurses
• Mental Health Nurses
• Learning Disability Nurses
• Occupational Therapists
• Physiotherapists
• Paramedics
• Pharmacists

You’ll need:

• At least 1 year of recent post-registration experience in a relevant adult setting
• At least 1 year of active NMC or HCPC registration
• Strong communication and assessment skills

PIP Functional Assessor

Starting at £47,000

Increases to £48,000 after 6 months (if performance objectives are met), then again after 12 months to £49,000 plus eligibility for the bonus structure scheme (3 assessments per day)

WCA Functional Assessor

Starting at £50,000

Increases to £51,000 after 12 months (if performance objectives are met) plus eligibility for the bonus scheme (5–6 assessments per day - WCA assessments are shorter than PIP)

Roles are subject to availability and service requirements in each geographical area. Ideally, candidates should be open to either PIP or WCA. Where possible, we may be able to accommodate a preference, although this cannot be guaranteed.

What will you be doing?

Successful candidates will complete a comprehensive 12-week training programme, covering:

• Assessment techniques
• DWP guidelines and requirements
• Report writingFunctional assessment skills
• Role-specific training and support

You don't need previous Functional Assessor experience — your clinical experience and transferable assessment skills are what matter.
