Job summary

Everpool Recruitment is seeking experienced healthcare professionals to join our WCA/PIP Functional Assessor teams across England. This hybrid, full-time role uses your clinical knowledge to assess how health conditions affect daily living and work, with Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm shifts and no nights or weekends.

You will complete a comprehensive 12-week training programme, conduct telephone, video and face-to-face assessments, produce clear reports for the DWP, and have access to career

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of recent post-registration experience in a relevant adult setting.
• Active NMC or HCPC registration for at least 1 year.
• Strong communication and assessment skills.
• Excellent report-writing and typing skills.
• Good IT skills and ability to work independently.
• Open to either PIP or WCA roles; sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video and face-to-face assessments.
• Explore how health conditions affect everyday activities and work.
• Review medical evidence and health questionnaires.
• Ask detailed questions about functional ability.
• Produce clear, accurate and objective reports for the DWP.

You’ll use your existing clinical knowledge and assessment skills in a new way, helping to assess how health conditions affect people's everyday lives and ability to work.

What we’re looking for

You’ll need:

• At least 1 year of recent post-registration experience in a relevant adult setting
• At least 1 year of active NMC or HCPC registration
• Strong communication and assessment skills
• Excellent report-writing and typing skills
• Good IT skills
• The ability to work independently and manage your own caseload

Sponsorship is not available for these roles.

PIP Functional Assessor Starting at £47,000 Increases to £48,000 after 6 months (if performance objectives are met), then again after 12 months to £49,000 plus eligibility for the bonus structure scheme (3 assessments per day)

WCA Functional Assessor Starting at £50,000 Increases to £51,000 after 12 months (if performance objectives are met) plus eligibility for the bonus scheme (5–6 assessments per day - WCA assessments are shorter than PIP)

Roles are subject to availability and service requirements in each geographical area. Ideally, candidates should be open to either PIP or WCA. Where possible, we may be able to accommodate a preference, although this cannot be guaranteed.

What will you be doing?

As a Functional Assessor, you will:

• Make recommendations based on your assessment findings

Full training provided.

Successful candidates will complete a comprehensive 12-week training programme, covering:

• Assessment techniques
• DWP guidelines and requirements
• Report writing
• Functional assessment skills
• Role-specific training and support

You don’t need previous Functional Assessor experience — your clinical experience and transferable assessment skills are what matter.
