Job summary

Everpool Recruitment is seeking experienced healthcare professionals for Disability Assessor roles (PIP/WCA) with hybrid working across England. You will apply your clinical knowledge to assess how conditions affect daily living and ability to work, conducting telephone, video and in-person assessments after completing comprehensive training.

Successful candidates will join a structured 12-week training programme covering assessment techniques, DWP guidelines, report writing and role-specific

• At least 1 year of recent post-registration experience in an adult setting.
• At least 1 year of active NMC or HCPC registration.
• Strong communication and assessment skills.
• Excellent report-writing and typing skills.
• Good IT skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage own caseload.

Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video and face-to-face assessments.
• Explore how health conditions affect daily activities and work.
• Review medical evidence and health questionnaires.
• Ask detailed questions about functional ability.
• Produce clear, accurate and objective reports for the DWP.
• Make recommendations based on assessment findings.

Are you an experienced healthcare professional looking for a new challenge that offers a better work‑life balance? You’ll use your existing clinical knowledge and assessment skills in a new way, helping to assess how health conditions affect people’s everyday lives and ability to work.

What we’re looking for

We are currently recruiting:

• Registered Adult Nurses
• Mental Health Nurses
• Learning Disability Nurses
• Occupational Therapists
• Physiotherapists
• Paramedics
• Pharmacists

You’ll need:

• At least 1 year of recent post‑registration experience in a relevant adult setting
• At least 1 year of active NMC or HCPC registration
• Strong communication and assessment skills
• Excellent report‑writing and typing skills
• Good IT skills
• The ability to work independently and manage your own caseload
• Sponsorship is not available for these roles.

Salary

• PIP Functional Assessor
  £40,000–£42,000 + excellent bonus scheme
  Typically 3 assessments per day
• WCA Functional Assessor
  £42,000–£43,000 + excellent bonus scheme
  Typically 5–6 shorter assessments per day

Roles are subject to availability and service requirements in each geographical area. Ideally, candidates should be open to either PIP or WCA. Where possible, we may be able to accommodate a preference, although this cannot be guaranteed.

You don’t need previous Functional Assessor experience — your clinical experience and transferable assessment skills are what matter.
