Job summary

Everpool Recruitment is seeking healthcare professionals for WCA Functional Assessor roles across England. The position offers hybrid working, Monday–Friday hours (9am–5pm) and a clear progression path. Start at £48,000 with potential increases and a bonus scheme based on performance.

Roles require 1 year post-registration experience in an adult setting and active registration with NMC or HCPC. Sponsorship is not available. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of post-registration experience in a relevant adult setting.
• At least 1 year of active NMC or HCPC registration.
• Strong communication and assessment skills.
• Excellent report-writing and typing skills.
• Good IT skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own caseload.

Responsibilities

• Conduct telephone, video and face-to-face assessments.
• Explore how health conditions affect everyday activities and work.
• Review medical evidence and health questionnaires.
• Ask detailed questions about functional ability.
• Produce clear, accurate and objective reports for the DWP.
• Make recommendations based on your assessment findings.

WCA Functional Assessor

• Starting at £48,000
• Increases to £49,000 after 12 months (if performance objectives are met) plus eligibility for the bonus scheme (5-6 assessments per day - WCA assessments are shorter than PIP)

What will you be doing? As a Functional Assessor, you will:

• Conduct telephone, video and face-to-face assessments

• Make recommendations based on your assessment findingsFull training provided

Successful candidates will complete a comprehensive 12-week training programme, covering:

• Assessment techniques
• DWP guidelines and requirements
• Report writing
• Functional assessment skills
• Role-specific training and support

You don't need previous Functional Assessor experience - your clinical experience and transferable assessment skills are what matter.
