Job summary

Kestrel Ward, part of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, is seeking an Activity Coordinator to enhance wellbeing for young people on an inpatient unit in North Wales. You will plan and run a variety of activities, supporting recovery and engagement.

You will work closely with service users and the ward team, delivering creative, therapeutic and recreational activities while upholding person-centred care and safeguarding standards.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication with service users and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Co-ordination and organisational skills to plan and run activities.
  • Basic risk assessment and risk management awareness.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a ward team.
  • Computer literacy and ability to document activity participation.
  • Understanding of person-centred care and inclusion principles.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and encourage participation in a wide range of activities for adolescents.
  • Support service users through creative, therapeutic and recreational activities.
  • Adapt activities to meet different needs and abilities on the ward.
  • Collaborate with ward team to promote holistic, recovery‑oriented care.
