Job description

Dr Mirza & Partners has an opportunity for an administrator/receptionist to join their busy practice support team, on a full or part-time basis. This position is a key role within the practice to provide administrative support to members of the primary health care team.

You will work as part of a team providing front line administration services including sending referrals, processing solicitors/SAR/patient letters requests, as well as booking of outpatient and inpatient appointments and general office duties.

This position requires a self-motivated and professional individual with the confidence and ability to work on their own initiative or as part of a team.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Registering new patients.
  • Scanning hospital letters and all mail ensuring scanned.
  • Stock ordering.
  • Processing repeat prescriptions.
  • Billing and invoicing.
  • Processing orders and payments for the practice.
  • Manage referrals.
  • Processing reports, patient letter requests, SARs etc. use of IGPR.
  • Covering reception, as and when required.
  • Handling phone enquiries efficiently.

  • Excellent communicators able to work in a confidential and discreet manner.
  • SystmOne knowledge.
  • Ideally 1 year's experience or equivalent working within a GP practice or NHS environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, work hard and maintain a high level of attention to detail when under pressure.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, as well as comfortably working independently.

About Us

Dr Mirza & Partners consists of a practice population of approximately 6,100. We have 3 GP partners, two regular GP locums, and an associated staff of practice nurses/HCA to provide medical services to our patients. We are part of the Hatters Health Network, providing additional health support for our surgery in conjunction with 5 other practices.
