Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in our Community Mental Health Recovery Team in Aldershot.

We are recruiting for a Receptionist/Administrator for a large Community Mental Health Recovery Service, based at Aldershot Centre for Health. The post is full-time. You will be one of the first points of contact for telephone calls and visitors to the service.

The role primarily involves being a receptionist, working with all members of the clinical team, including Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Community Psychiatric Nurses, Social Workers, and Occupational Therapists. We run several busy clinics each week, and reception plays a vital role in their smooth operation. You will need good telephone skills, excellent communication and organizational skills, be IT literate, and able to multitask. All team members are valued, and good reception staff are seen as integral to enabling service users and carers to receive quality care.

Please note this is a fixed-term post for 6 months.

  • Ensure all inquiries are handled politely and appropriately, initiating suitable responses.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to inquiries from service users, carers, and visitors.
  • Maintain collaborative and pleasant working relationships.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of client data according to Trust policy.
  • Use SystmOne, the Trust’s electronic health record system, including checking client data, appointments, and uploading clinical information.
  • Photocopy and dispatch clinical correspondence.
  • Exchange verbal and written information tactfully with clients and staff.
  • Accurately take and relay messages via telephone when necessary.
  • Be sensitive to and respectful of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Report issues requiring management attention.
  • Implement Trust and team policies and procedures.
