Job description

Are you an organised and proactive Administrator / Coordinator looking for your next opportunity in the Hull area? Do you enjoy supporting people, keeping things organised and being the person who helps make sure everything runs smoothly?

Would you like to work for a friendly, community-focused charity that genuinely makes a difference to local communities in Hull and across the wider Yorkshire & Humber region? If so, this Administrator / Coordinator job could be exactly what you're looking for.

Working closely with the Chief Executive, you'll become a key source of administrative, organisational and operational support, helping to coordinate projects, prepare reports and communications and keep important activities on track.

What the Administrator / Coordinator job involves
  • Providing day-to-day administrative and project support to the Chief Executive, helping to coordinate priorities and keep activities moving forward.
  • Helping to coordinate meetings, events, workshops and conferences, from invitations and registrations through to venues, materials and attendee communications.
  • Carrying out research and preparing reports, presentations, briefing materials, correspondence and other documents.
  • Liaising with colleagues and external stakeholders and helping to coordinate internal and external communications.
  • Producing the charity's regular newsletter, including planning content, drafting articles and coordinating contributions.
  • Keeping the charity's website up to date and supporting digital communications, including social media updates and stakeholder announcements.
  • Preparing agendas and meeting papers, taking minutes and helping to keep agreed actions on track.
  • Providing on-the-day support at events to help everything run smoothly.
  • Providing reception cover when required, welcoming visitors and handling enquiries professionally.

You'll be joining an organisation that supports the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector, as well as delivering projects that help empower local communities, so this is a great opportunity if you'd like your work to contribute to something meaningful.

Skills and experience required
  • Previous experience within an administration, coordinator or business support role.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage different tasks and changing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with good attention to detail.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint.
  • A professional and approachable manner, with the confidence to communicate with people at different levels.
  • The ability to work independently, use your initiative and take ownership of your work.
  • A positive, adaptable attitude and a willingness to get involved and support colleagues across the organisation.
  • You'll need a full driving licence and the willingness and ability to travel around the East Riding of Yorkshire and to other organisation sites when required.
  • The successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

Above all, we're looking for someone with the right attitude. Someone who is dependable, enjoys working with people, isn't afraid to muck in and takes satisfaction from making things happen behind the scenes.
