Support the Halton Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Service with a range of administrative support tasks
Duties & responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative and clerical support to the Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Service.
- Act as a first point of contact for parents, carers, schools, healthcare professionals and external agencies, handling enquiries professionally and sensitively.
- Manage referrals, appointment bookings, clinic schedules and waiting lists, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Maintain confidential patient records and update electronic healthcare systems in line with NHS information governance requirements.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, meeting agendas and minutes for clinical and management teams.
- Liaise with speech and language therapists, multidisciplinary teams, schools and community services to support effective patient care.
- Respond to telephone, email and written enquiries, escalating complex issues where appropriate.
- Support service performance through accurate data entry, record management and production of routine reports.
- Organise meetings, training sessions and clinic administration, ensuring smooth day-to-day operation of the service.
- Assist with stock control, ordering office supplies and maintaining administrative systems.
